Life Happened

So… Yes, I am still alive. It has been a few months since I last posted something… Such a good planner aren’t I.

Yes I haven’t been posting anymore. Reasons: travelling, school started again, troubles about how this blog was going… You might have seen that I deleted some posts, it’s just that I didn’t like the content of my blog as much as I had hoped. I had a pretty solid idea in my head but it didn’t really turn out how I wanted it because I got scared it wouldn’t be good enough. The thing is, this is my blog. So I can choose what I do on here. I wanted it to be a space where I could share my toughts and experiences but instead I started posting stuff that I saw a lot of other bloggers were posting and I didn’t really think of what I wanted to post anymore.

Now after a long while of living a little more and thinking an awful lot I tought it was time to start blogging again.

I am not going to promise specific posts or specific days that there will be a post. It’s just gonna go like I want it. No pressure. Obviously I will plan a little bit what when to post but not with strict days anymore because that didn’t work out well.

Hopefully you will forgive me (once again) for not posting all this time.

I will speak you soon.

Story Time

A new thing I want to try is story time. When I put up a story time post I will show you a random picture from my camera roll that I landed on when I scrolled trough my phone blindfolded. When I have the picture inserted I will tell you the story behind that picture.I hope you will like these posts but let’s start with the first one!

story time

This is the picture that has come out! This picture is taken during a week in which I went to a sailing camp in my scouts. We had lessons for a whole week and the last evening we got a theory exam and the last day a practical exam. The days existed of waking up, eating breakfast and getting ready, then the morning lessons, then lunch, after that we had our afternoon lessons, around 4 p.m. we had a little pause with a little snack, after that we played a game on the water with the boats, then we had diner. After diner we had an evening activity and after those activities we often had a party. This camp is organised in my scouting and is together with a few other scouting groups so we were there with around 100 people. I had an amazing week with amazing people, nice weather, awesome parties and of course a lot of sailing. Because there was no wind the last day, we had to postpone our exam but two weeks ago we finally did the exam and I passed it. I love sailing and the memories that I made on that little camp are ones to remember for the rest of my life! The moment that you are reading this I am actually on a big camp with the sailing boats, with that scouts. Hopefully it is as great.

So this was my first story time post. I hope you liked it and definitely let me know if you want more of this sort of posts.

Little disclaimer: If you send me a message now I can’t answer because the moment that this post goes online, I am still sailing and wanderlusting. I hope you understand and I will answer you as fast as possible!

I hope you liked reading again and I will speak to you next Sunday!

My Summer Essentials

When you read this post I am on a sailing-trip in the Netherlands, I have planned out some post but it wasn’t possible to prepare 2 posts a week because I am gone for 3 weeks and I didn’t have enough time to write 6 posts. I am sorry for that but I made sure that you have at least one a week, starting with this one and the next one on Sunday in stead of Wednesday.

Today my post is going to be about my summer musthaves or summer essentials. Everyone has his own essentials but I want to share my essentials with you because you might find something that was not in your list of summer musthaves before that could be usefull.

So let’s start this list!

1) A good book

This may surprise you, but a good book is definitely a summer essential for me. Netflix is a nice way to spent time but sitting inside watching Netflix all day is not really a summery thing to do. A good book is so much more summer related. You can take your book with you to the beach, on a picknick, to the park, on a camping trip or to the pool… Whatever you prefer!

2) A regular camera, Polaroid camera or smartphone camera

I love taking picture, I actually think I’m obsessed! I love the idea of capturing a moment and having the opportunity to rewatch it again and again. I am going on 3 trips and my camera has to come! I think taking pictures is a really important thing to do because sometimes it is the only thing you have left of a person or a moment. But be aware: if you only focus on taking pictures and not on the moment that is happening, you will miss out on a lot!

3) A good playlist

I think a good playlist full of your favorite summer music is important too! There are so many times when a summer playlist full of all your favorite songs is needed. For example on a picknick, a beach day or even just a walk outside. It gets the mood going and a good mood is such an important thing in summer. Let’s get the party started!!

4) Confidence

This might not be an obvious  essential but it is really important. Summertime is the time that you go to the beach and to the pool. The thing you wear there is obviously swimwear. But this isn’t that easy for everyone. I have had struggles with my body image for a long time and even now I am definitely not completely happy with how my body looks. But it is so important for a person to feel good about themself! It is okay to not look like the rest of the world, it makes you unique. And the most beautiful part about a person is there inside and the glow that there confidence gives them. So don’t let other peoples looks get you down and don’t even let them hurt you when they say things about you that are definitely not true. You are you and that is perfect! Be who you are, because you are definitely perfect like that…

I think those were my most important summer essantials. Obviously you also have things like sunscreen, water, some fashion pieces and other stuff like that. But the essentials that I wanted to list here are a little different. It are things that will make sure that you have a happy summer.Because I think that is the biggest summer essential: being happy and smiling. Making memories and enjoying moments that you will never forget is the most important thing of all!

Little disclaimer: If you send me a message now I can’t answer because the moment that this post goes online, I am still sailing and wanderlusting. I hope you understand and I will answer you as fast as possible!

I hope you liked reading again and I will speak to you next Sunday!

Review: Me Before You

Today I have a little review for you guys. It won’t be the biggest post you have read here but I just saw this movie and I have to tell you guys about it!

On Thursday I have been to the cinema with one of my friends to see the movie Me Before You. The film is based on a novel written by Jojo Moyes and stars famous actors  as Sam Claflin, Emelia Clarke and Jenna Coleman. The film was released on June 3, 2016 in the United States.

I had seen the trailer and I fell in love immediately. I really wanted to see this movie so I waited till it came out here in Belgium… I got really excited when it finally came out here and I found a spot of time to go to the cinema.

I absolutely adored the movie! I was in love from the start. The film contains a lot of humor but also sad parts (obviously). I think I cried for half of the movie! But it was so so beautiful. I loved the story-line and the way that it was made was absolutely lovely. The thing is that I love this kind of sad and romantic movies but not everyone likes this genre as much. I think if you don’t really like this kind of movies, you will defintely not like this film. If you do like this genre, you will definitely love this movie as much as me.

This is all I have to say today. I know it is a smaller post but the moment that this post goes up, I am having fun at a music festival (future blogpost?).

I hope you liked reading again and I will speak you guys again on Wednesday!

Chit-Chat: Friends, and Being (A)social

Today I am going to do something a little different. I am going to do a chit-chat, I am just going to talk to you guys about some things that are on my mind!

Friends and being (a)social

Last week I went to a cocktailbar with the same friends that I have been to the Food Truck Festival with. We were celebrating one of my friends birthday and we had an amazing evening. The thing is that I feel really really privileged that I have these amazing friends that I can say everything to and that I have so much fun with! I know that they will always be there for me and they support me in every way possible… The things is tough that I know that not everyone is privileged with friends like that. I am so so happy that I have those friends but that is for some people not obvious. Some people don’t have good friends or even any friends and in worst cases: they get bullied.

In Primary School I didn’t have that much friends. I don’t know if I could call it bullying (maybe only a few times) but I didn’t really fit in. I had the feeling nobody liked me and that nobody understood me. And I get that I am definitely not the only person that has ever felt like that and there are probably so much people that are feeling like that right now!

People can keep saying: “Ignore it” “Try to fit in” “Talk with other people”, but all of this is sometimes not that easy! And I don’t think that there is someone who has come up with a solution so that every person would feel confident and feel that they fit in. It just doesn’t work that way.

But there are little things that we can do to make a person feel better in a group. If we would all make a little effort and try to be nice to one another, that would already make a huge difference! And don’t make someone feel bad about themselves just because they are a little different or don’t dress like you… And even if you don’t really like a person, don’t make that person feel bad about himself!

For some people being social is really easy. I, for example, am pretty good at meeting new people but other people may not feel confident while meeting others. If you see someone is not that confident in talking to people, go to that person yourself and start a conversation.

I have the feeling that being social is really special these days. Lots of people don’t feel confident anymore to talk to another person but that is not rare because all we do know is trough the internet! And I get it, it is so much easier to talk to someone online and don’t have to talk to that person in real life because it might get awkward or weird. But be aware: you can be social online and asocial in real life.

Sometimes you are so hung up on your phone that you don’t see the people around you anymore. And have to say that I am guilty of that sometimes too. I can get cought up to my phone a little to much sometimes and it is not polite against people around me. The thing is that you don’t even see that you are being asocial and are only busy with your phone and not with the people around you. The thing is that you could even meet new people if you were not only busy with your phone.

I have seen a video about looking up from your phone: Look Up by Gary Turk

The fact that so many feel misfit in a group can definitely depend on whether or not that group is always on their phones or if they are really social and talking.

So the thing I want to say with this post is just: put your phone down some more and talk to the people around you, make sure that everyone feels good when you are around and don’t exclude people from things that you are doing or from your group.

I hope you liked a post like this because there will probably be some more of these.

Thanks for reading and I will speak to you on Wednesday!

The Disney Tag

Hello again,

Today I am going to do The Disney Tag. I searched the questions on the internet and now I am going to answer them for you! And again this is a tag that I have not been tagged to do but who cares, right?

I am a huge Disney fan so I am very excited to answer these questions!

LITTLE WARNING: THESE ANSWERS CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!

1) Favourite character: I think my favourite disney character probably is Mufasa. I love The Lion King so much and I don’t know why but I just love his character!

2) Favourite princess: This is a hard one because I love almost all the disney princesses. But I think I am going to choose Pocahontas! I love that she is such a strong character and she dares to say what she thinks. I also like that she stands for her people and protects them while seeing the good in others too…

3) Favourite heroine: My favourite heroine is by far Mulan! I love that she is such a strong character and that she reprensents the strong female side of Disney! She is also the only Disney princess to enter the army. I love that she has the guts to join the army in stead of her dad to save his life.

4) Favourite prince: I think Eugene Fitzherbert. I searched a list of all the Disney princes and I think I like him the most! I love that he goes from one of the bad guys to the good guy and come on people, he is such a romanticus… Can a man please take me on a boat to see floating lanterns??

5) Favourite hero: My favourite Disney hero would be Quasimodo. I have been loving The Hunchback of Notre Dame ever since I saw it the first time and when I went to Paris I couldn’t stop thinking of that movie! I think he is so cute and who does not love the underdog?

6) Favourite animal: My favourite Disney animal is definitely little Simba. He is just the cutest thing ever! I like that he is a little rebel too… He is sweet but also a little full of himself and in some way, this goes very well together!

7) Favourite sidekick: Piglet!! I just love Piglet sooooo much! I mean, cuteness overload!!

8) Favourite villain: I tought I would find this one difficult because I tought I mostly loved the heroes and heroines but I actually found it difficult to choose from all the different amazing villains!! I mean their voices are so good and their characters are amazing too… If I have to choose one I would say Claude Frollo. He is the villain from the movie the Hunchback of Notre Dame and his songs are just amazing! I love him a lot…

Fun fact: (SPOILER ALERT) Because at the end of this movie Frollo falls of the Notre Dame, my dad used to tell me that there was a big hole in front of the Notre Dame where he had hit the ground. When I went to Paris with my family, I was very dissapointed that there was no hole!

9) Favorite Original character: I mean, Mickey of course! He is just Mickey, No extra words needed I think…

10) Favourite song: My favourite disney song (at the moment) is I’ll Make A Man Out Of You from the movie Mulan! I have put this song in my Monthly Favorites from May so you can check that out! I just absolutely love this song…

11) Favourite villain song: Altough my favourite villain is Claude Frollo, my favourite villain song is not from that movie! My actual favourite villain song is Poor Unfortunate Souls from the Little Mermaid sung by the witch Ursula… This song is just amazing!!!

12) Least favourite song: This is actually a really hard question but I think Once Upon A Dream from Sleeping Beauty! I mean, I love the Lana Del Rey version but in the movie, the person that sings the part of Aurora sounds way to old in my opinion… This could be just me but I don’t know, I have always been really confused about it!

13) Favourite kiss: I think my favourite kiss is the one from Tangled… How cute and romantic is it that they finally kiss after Eugene died?? I mean, I cry every time he dies and get so happy again the moment that they kiss! Literally butterflies every single time.

14) First Disney movie I ever saw: I don’t really know wich Disney movie that I saw first but I think it was either Dumbo or Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarves…

15) Favourite Disney classic: Definitely Beauty and the Beast… I mean it is just perfect! And the songs… Heaven in my ears!

16) Least Favourite Classic: I think The Wild. I never really liked that movie and I don’t feel the need of watching it again and again like I have with other Disney movies…

17) Favourite Pixar movie: Finding Nemo, no doubt! I freaking love that movie.

18) Least favourite Pixar movie: The Incredibles, I have never really liked it. Just like The Wild.

19) Favourite sequel: My favourite sequel is Mulan II but I have to say that I think I have only seen two sequels wich are Mulan II and Pocahontas II and I didn’t like Pocahontas II… So yeah, Mulan II! I am trying to think of all the sequels and I have to say that I can’t really think of any other then those two, that I have seen yet…

20) Overrated movie: I find Frozen the most overrated movie. Don’t get me wrong, I love Frozen but I think it is just gotten such a hype when it came out and I don’t know! It kind of makes me like it a little less…

21) Underrated movie: I think one of the most underrated Disney movies is The Fox and the Hound. I don’t know how it is in other countries but, here in Belgium it is not that well known! I have seen it and I loved this movie but when I asked a friend of mine he was really confused and didn’t really know it existed… Such a shame tough because, it is an amazing Disney movie.

22) Movie that makes me laugh: Tangled! That movie has really good humor in it and it makes me laugh every single time Pascal does something! I really like that movies humor… So yeah my answer is Tangled.

23) Movie that makes me cry: Literally every single Disney movie that I have seen! I swear I can’t keep it dry, not even during a Disney movie that I didn’t like that much… Every time there is some sort of plot twist that gets me. Even when I have seen the movie over a hundred times (*cough* Tangled *cough*) I still get tears in my eyes. So every damn Disney movie!!!

24) Favourite scene from favourite movie: My favourite Disney movie is Tangled and my favourite scene from that movie is the lantern scene. It is just so romantic and so cute and (SPOILER!) just when you think they are actually gonna kiss, he sees the bad guys so he holds back! I mean seriously, AAAAAAAAAARGHHHH… I just freaking love that scene!

25) Saddest death: All the deaths are pretty sad but the two that get me the most are Eugene’s death (altough I don’t know if it really counts, cause he comes back to live) and the death of Mufasa. I mean the moment little Sima discovers that his dad is not answering anymore and that he is not waking up is just heartbreaking!

26) Favourite quote: I think this one doesn’t even need an explanation!

Some people are worth melting for ~ Olaf

27) Favourite theme park: I have only been to Disneyland Paris, so obviously that one. But I wish to go to the one in Florida…

28) Favourite themed attraction: I honestly can’t remember. Altough I know I liked a Star Wars one…

29) Favourite show: I don’t even know if I have seen a show…

30) Favourite love song: I See The Light from Tangled. I mean it is my favourite scene and it is definitely also my favourite song.

So that were my answers to the Disney-tag. I am sorry if I spoiled anything for you, I didn’t mean to but I was just trying to answer these questions as honest as possible.

I am also really sorry that I didn’t post anything on Sunday, but I had a really big exam on Monday and I know I should have planned it but it just got all a little busy. I am really sorry and I will try to make shure it does not happen again!

Thanks for reading again, I hope you liked it and I’ll speak to you next Sunday (hopefully😉)!

6 Things To Enjoy Summer Even More!

Today I want to talk about the summer a little more because, yes people the summer holidays are almost here and someone is getting really excited (okay yes it is me alright!)!

I have 3 big trips planned this summer  but there are still a lot of days that I need to fill. And how can you spend a summer day better then while making memories with friends or enjoying a relaxing afternoon alone?

Stuck on what to do? Don’t worry cause I am here with 6 ideas to spent your time on this summer!

1) Explore!

What about that one near village that you have never really been to because you tought you already knew it? Well throw on your sandals with white socks, get out your camera (okay, maybe leave the sandals and socks at home) and pretend you are a tourist! I’m sure you will look at the place like never before! Want to do something while you are there? Make a plog! “A plog?” you may say? Well yes! A picture vlog or plog, is when you take pictures of everything that you have done (and in this case have seen) and put them in a chronological order together! Great way to enjoy your day over and over again!

2) Picnicing!

You may think a picnic sounds lame, but I tell you it is very cosy and fun! Call some friends and tell them to take some delicious (healthy and non-healthy) stuff with them! Make sure you have some big blankets that you all fit on and go to that one really cool park with lots of grass (most parks have it) and go sit next to the fountain. Put on some great music and enjoy the most relaxing meal you have ever had! If one of you has a Polaroid camera, make sure to take it with you, it adds a great memory to your picture gallery…

3) Beach day?

Want to have a beach day but the beach is to far and a train-ticket to expensive? No problem! Invite your friends, put on your swimming clothes, take your towel, get out a football and other things that remind you of a beach day and spend the afternoon in your garden like you would spent it on the beach! Missing the water? Take out some water balloons and water guns and that part is covered too! Make sure your beach-playlist is ready to play the whole afternoon long…

4) Pfff, so hot!

A hot day and you want some ice lollies but, there are no ice-lollies left? Well I know a fun and delicious recipe that you can try out! You might have seen it all over Pinterest already, but for those of you that have not seen it yet, here you are!

ingredients:

  • Sprite, or other sort of lime lemonade
  • gummy bear sweets
  • some different kinds of fruit
  • ice moulds, I got mine for €3 in Flying Tiger (you can also use plastic cups and spoons

Preparing:

  • take the moulds and start filling some with gummy bears and some with fruit
  • when all of those are in the moulds, pour the Sprite in till the height you prefer
  • stick the topn there in there
  • put them in the freezer for a couple of hours

Get them out and enjoy your selfmade ice lollies!

I filled some of mine withe Sprite and gummy bears, some with sprite and raspberry sirop and fruit and some mixed!

I didn’t really know what to expect from the taste the first time that I made them, but I actually really like them!

5) When the sun goes down…

Nice warm and dry evening with a clear sky? Amazing! Do you have an old mattress that is still comfortable? Even more amazing! The only thing that you still need are a lot of pillows, some blankets and your best friend, boyfriend or love interest. Switch your Phone of, lay down on the mattress and enjoy the stars! A night of stargazing, relaxed talking and a person you like… Sounds as in a dream right?

6) Geocaching!

Geowhat? Geocaching!

Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a GPS or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called “geocaches” or “caches”, anywhere in the world. (Source: Wikipedia)

The only thing that you have to do is sign in on Geocaching.com (yes, it is free), find a geocache in your environment by using the site or the app (for iPhone and Android) and on your way you are! I think it is an amazing way to spice up a normal hike a little bit!

Invite some friends and you can see who finds the cache first!

So that were some things that you can try out and do this summer… And if it is rainig the whole day, you just stay in bed adn Netflix and chill the whole day long! No one will Judge, it is a holiday after all…

Speak you guys in my next post, next Wednesday!

Travelling Around: Copenhagen

Copenhagen or K∅benhavn, capital city of Denmark. A beautiful city that I had the privilege of visiting last summer. For all of you out there that don’t yet know were they want to go on holiday this summer, definitely consider making a trip here.

I will tell you a little bit more about what we did while visiting Copenhagen. I went with my mom and little brother and we had an amazing stay there.

1) Airbnb

Airbnb is a company and website for people to list, find and rent lodging. It has over 1,500,000 listings in 34,000 cities and 190 countries. (Source: Wikipedia).

We were searching for a cheaper option to stay in Copenhagen then a hotel when my mom found this site. It is basicly a place were people can rent there house for travellers and those travellers can then search what they are searching for. As traveller you can choose the place that you are going to, when you want to stay, you can select your maximum price, how many people you are staying with end then you get a whole list of all your option. When you find a place you like you have to send that person an e-mail and then that person can choose if they trust you or not and if the house (or appartment) is still available.

We found a great appartment not to far from the city center and with a bus stop very close to the appartment. It was big enough for the 3 of us and we liked being there!

2) Copenhagen card

The Copenhagen Card is an amazing way to save some money while being in Copenhagen. I have to say that Copenhagen is a little bit more expensive but with this card we got a lot more out of our money!

With a Copenhagen Card you have:

  • Free admission to 73 museums and attractions
  • Free transport by train, bus, harbour bus and metro in the entire Copenhagen region. Also from/to the airport
  • Discounts on restaurants, attractions and entertainment

The Copenhagen Card is available as:

  • A 24-hour card, a 48-hour card, a 72-hour card and a 120-hour card
  • An adult card (16+) and a child card (10-15)
  • Bring along two children (0-9) for free with an adult Copenhagen Card

3) Transport

If you wan to know more about the transport in Copenhagen you can check out this site.

My experience with the public transport in Copenhagen was very good! You have a lot of buses, trains, metros and they are very efficient. In every bus you have a screen that says were you are so you can see when you have to get off.

You can also go by harbour bus across the harbour of Copenhagen in stead of walking around it. I found it a really unique experience..

Now that I told some practical things about visiting Copenhagen, let’s get into the different places to visit and what I have visited while being there.

Day 1: Exploring

The first day that we were in Copenhagen we just walked from our appartment to the city and there we walked around  to see a little bit were everything was and what we all could visit! While doing that we already visited some things!

  • Assistens Cemetery: The first thing that was on our way to the city was the Assistens Cemetry. It is a cemetry and a parc. On this cemetry Hans Christian Andersen is burried so that is a person that we searched! We also found the grave of philosophor S∅ren Michael Kierkegaard. This park is used by a lot of joggers and I get why, because it was a beautiful and quiet park to run.
  • Rundetaarn: After walking further to the city center we passed the Rundetaarn! We looked at the outside but we did not visit it that day.
  • Amagertorv: The next thing we crossed was the Amagertorv square with the St. Nicholas Church very close to the square.
  • Nyhavn: Next we made a stop at Nyhavn. I am a boat person so I absolutly loved this little harbour! It has a great atmosphere with lots of little cafés and some street performers along the road. I loved being here and I loved all the different colors.
  • Lego Shop: The second last stop we made that day was at the Lego shop in the shopping street. My little brother is obsessed by Lego and of course Lego is a big thing in Denmark. There is a Legoland in Denmark too!
  • Hard Rock Café Copenhagen: The last stop we made that day was the Hard Rock Café. We didn’t go inside but we wanted to see it so we passed it while we started walking back to the appartment.

Day 2: canal tour, Guinnes record museum and the Rundetaarn

The second day that we were in Copenhagen we went on with exploring the city but we did it in a different way today! We went to the SFDS Canal Tours station and we went on a little boat trip along some landmarks in Copenhagen. These are the places we saw from the boats. Some of those we visited later on in the week.

The next thing we did that day was visit the Guiness World Records Museum. My brother chose this museum to visit and I am really happy that he chose it because it was a very fun museum to walk through. At the entrance there is a big puppet of the tallest man on earth.

The last thing we did that day was walk up the Rundetaarn. It was very easy to walk up because the biggest part of the tower is not made out of stairs but just a path upwards. Only the last part is a staircase. At the top you had an amzing view.

Day 3: trainstation and Tivoli Garden

On day 3 we took a bus to the train station cause we had to be at that stop to visit Tivoli Gardens but my brother and my mom had to pee so we went inside for a little bit and I am happy we did because it was an amazing trainstation! We might as well have stopped at Dunkin Donuts which made my mood even better.

After our little stop in the station we went to Tivoli Gardens. Tivoli Gardens is the most amazing amusement park that I have ever been to. It has a lot of amazing attractions but the parc itself is also so wonderfull and everything looks so cute. The park is even more beautiful at night with all the lights on! If you visit and you love attractions, I recommend you get the multi-rides wristband, because there are a lot of amazing atractions there. This day was my favourite day of the whole trip.

Day 4:  Zoo

The next day we went to the zoo of Copenhagen. I have to tell you that we were a little dissapointed about this zoo… It was not as we expected it to be. I mean I had fun and stuff but I had expected it t be a lot different! The zoo is seperated in two parts and one part was nice and I liked it there, but the other part was a little empty. I don’t know why but it was a weird atmosphere there! I do have to say that they were renovating this part, but even while renovating you can still make it nice, right?

Day 5: beach day and lots of fish

This day we just wanted to relax a little bit. We made some lunch in the morning and we went to the beach. The wheater that day was really good so it was really nice to lay on the beach and to take a swim in the sea! We went to the Amager beach and it was a really nice environment.

Because we did not want to stay at the beach all day we also went to the Blue Planet aquarium. It was one of the most spectacular aquariums that I have ever seen! It was really big and beautifully arranged. It loved walking around there. The outside of this aquarium is also very special cause it is in the shape of a whale.

Day 6: some more sightseeing

Today we did some more sightseeing. We visited a lot of places today from wich a big part in Christianshavn.

First we went to visit the Experimentarium. I don’t have pictures of that but it was really cool! You could do a lot of different things and I had a lot of fun! Next to the Experimentarium was a little food truck festival and we had lunch there. ( If you are curious about food truck festivals check out my blogpost about a food truck festival that I went to: Trucks Full of Food ).

Next we went to the Freetown Christiania. This place was something completely different.  In this little town it is okay to sell drugs and stuff like that (don’t worry I didn’t buy them) but there are also some little stands on a little market were you could buy some jewelry and other cute stuff like that.

The next thing we did was walk up the Church of our Savior. It was very special, because first you walk upwards inside the church wich is a really old part but beautiful to see and then suddenly the next part that you walk is an outside staircase wich is really special. If you are scared of hights a little bit then it is okay. But if you are really scared of hights I kind of wouldn’t recommend this church because the outside staircase is high and you are walking a small staircase with people walking up and down. But overall it was really cool to do this.

Next we took the harbour bus to get to the other side of the harbour. When we arrived there we walked towards the statue of The Little Mermaid or De Lille Hafvrue. I loved seeing this statue cause I love Disney and The Little Mermaid is one of my favourite stories! The only negative things is that it is a really popular landmark so there are a lot of people.

Than we walked back to te city centre while passing the Amalienborg Palace and the St. Frederiks Church. Here you could see the guards standing before the palace and it was really cool to see! The St. Frederiks church is also really beautiful to see!

After all this sightseeing we went back to the appartment, tired but happy that we got to see so much different places that day.

Day 7: shopping and Dyrehavsakken

This day was our last full day in Copenhagen because the day after we went back to Belgium by plane.

Because it was our last day we went shopping first. We went to the city centre with the big shopping street and shopped for a while.

After that we went back to our appartement to put our new stuff there and we prepared to leave for the amusement park Dyrehavsbakken. I absolutely loved this amusement park! Tivoli Gardens is much more beautiful as a park but Dyrehavsbakken was better considering attractions. This parc was only attractions and little eating stands. They had some really original attractions and I absolutely loved it! I really recommend paying a visit here.

The next day we prepared our suitecases and headed back home!

I hope you enjoyed my first travel related post. I had a lot of fun making it and looking at the pictures again! If you are able to visit Copenhagen one day you should definitely do that because it is a beautiful city and I absolutely loved my time there.

I’ll speak to you in my next post on Wednesday!

Trucks Full of Food

Friday evening I went with 4 lovely ladies to a Food Truck-festival! I had an amazing evening/night and I definitely want to share my experience with you guys!

The Barrio Cantina – Food Truck Festival  was held in Bruges, Belgium but you can find this kind of festival in a lot of countries. Basicly it is a huge outdoor restaurant with lots of little trucks with different kinds of food from all around the world! You could eat Mexican, Vietnamese, Chinese, American, … There were also some cocktailbars, juicebars and coffeebars. Of course there were some desserts too! The food was very payable.

We ate way to much! We made a box were we all had to put some money in and then we went to the different stands with that money, so we could all taste a little bit of everything. We started by getting some wraps, mini spring rolls and some noodles. They tasted A-MA-ZING. After that we bought some French fries and some nachos. They were also really delicious. We drank a cocktail with strawberries with the food and can I just say that it were the most delicious cocktails that I had ever tasted!! After those things we bought some churros and some mini-pancakes, cause everyone loves a good dessert right?

The atmosphere was also a huge succes! The music from some DJ’s and a lot of little lights everywhere made the whole thing so relaxing and fun!

We all had an amazing evening and if there is a Food Truck Festival in your city I recommend you definitely take a look because it truly is genious!

Speak you Wednesday!
